Gwangjang Market

Gwangjang market was established in 1905 and re-built with adding roof to protect people from rain and snow in 2005. It is located on Jong-no street which has been the iconic of Seoul leisure and nightlife. This market will satisfy your tongue for delicious and inexpensive Korean food. Once you walk in from the main entrance, you will see a line of food stalls selling not just the main dishes but also snacks, i.e ‘sundae’ (sausage) ‘jokbal’ (pork feet), ‘eomuk’ (fish cake), ‘patjuk’ (red bean porridge) and the most favourite ‘bindaetteok’ (bean pancake).


You will taste the original and delightful food cook by experienced ajuma and ajosshi who have been cooking for decades in this market. Not to mention how cheap soju and other types of alcohol in this market too.

The second floor of Gwangjang market is used to specialize in selling garment materials and Hanbok (Korean National Dress). The products are usually supply the majority big department stores or other bigger markets in Korea.
